Our Story

Hero Heart Shop began as a way to honor gratitude in its truest form.

When my son was ten months old, he received a heart transplant after developing dilated cardiomyopathy. A child we will never know gave my son the gift of life, reshaping our family forever.

Dilated cardiomyopathy continues to affect our family today. These experiences deepened my understanding of generosity, resilience, and care.

Hero Heart Shop exists to thoughtfully curate women's vintage and modern clothing, accessories, and more, while gently raising awareness for organ donation and dilated cardiomyopathy. Gratitude guides every choice.

15% of every sale at Hero Heart Shop directly supports research for Dilated Cardiomyopathy at the CTICU at Nationwide Children's Hospital. 

We proudly advocate for organ donation while bringing people closer through intentional, mission-driven pop-up events.

About the founder:

I’m a mother whose life was forever changed by the gift of organ donation. After my son was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, we experienced firsthand the strength of community, the fragility of life, and the extraordinary impact of a single selfless decision.

My path to creating Hero Heart Shop has been anything but linear. I have explored many different career paths, always drawn to both creativity and connection. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Ohio University and a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University—two experiences that shaped my love for storytelling, human connection, and advocacy.

This shop brings those passions together.

What began as a love for thoughtfully curated, secondhand clothing has grown into something much more meaningful—a space where style meets purpose. Every piece is intentionally selected, not just for how it looks, but for how it makes you feel: confident, seen, and empowered.

I believe in creating a space that uplifts and empowers women—where getting dressed is not just about appearance, but about expressing identity, strength, and individuality.

Hero Heart Shop allows me to be creative, engage with my community, and do work that I truly love—while continuing to advocate for organ donation and support research for dilated cardiomyopathy.

Through every sale, we give back to support this mission, because it will always be at the heart of everything we do.
